Question:

Where can I buy a focusable spotlight for 300 yard target shooting?

I'm looking for a bright spotlight which I can run off of a generator, which will focus a small beam out to a 300 yard target for nighttime target shooting.

I don't think a standard spotlight will work at this distance, I need something high-powered and possibly HID.

Where could I look for this?

Thanks

  1. Home Depot.

  2. You could try a military surplus store...what you're talking about fits nicely on the back of a two and a half ton truck.  Yup - it and it's power generator are that big.  Um - why don't you confine your target shooting to the daylight hours like us normal shooters?

  3. LOWES OR HOME DEPOT

  4. Yeah, OK, wmayers9, and you define the "normal shooters"? Did it ever occur to you that some people take their hobbies more seriously than you do?

Shooting is a sport which can be enjoyed morning, noon, or night. Getting a good spotlight is a perfect way to enjoy the hobby after the sun goes down.

I recommend getting an HID unit with a good focus for 300 yards, and not a normal halogen bulb.

You can find the units rated over 30 million candlepower, but they are usually 12V battery. Here is an example of something which would work, to give you an idea, since they aren't in stock here: http://www.hidfoglight.com/productsAndSe...

    Happy shooting
