Where can I buy a really long Ethernet chord?

I need a really long Ethernet chord (like 12 meters). When I had my cable modem set up, I had it installed next to my computer which is in my room. But, I want to connect an X-Box 360 and go online and play games. But, to do that I need to connect it to a router (which would be in my room). So, I need a really long Ethernet chord from my router to the living room to hook up to the X-Box 360. Any suggestions?

  1. Staples has a 50' ethernet cable, or you could order a cable from blackbox.com.

  2. Wal Mart has them.....I needed a 50' for mine....computer to living room

  3. i would try best buy and if you didnt find any there i would check like, bizrate or something like that or just try looking on google! :D

  4. you could probably buy one anywhere like best buy.......but it would be alot easier if you just got a wireless router then got  a wireless adapter for your xbox they are kinda expensive but it is definitly worth it. heres the website for it..

  5. Whatever you do, stay away from the Office type stores.  I went to one and they wanted $75 for a 100' ethernet cable.

I ended up buying it online for less than $20 and free shipping.

  6. go to an electronics computer shop for hobbyist - they come in 25, 50 , 100 feet

You can buy at best buy but they are very expensive

be careful your mom does not trip on the cord !

by the way the short ethernet cords ( 3 feet or so) are referred to as "patch cords"  to confuse everybody

You want a regular ethernet cable as well not a "crossover " cable

  7. 12M is alright.  Just remember you cannot go more than 100m (which is what I would consider really long).

You can get a 30 to 40' chord online, bestbuy, radioshack, or you could have someone from a local computer store make one for you!

  8. i bought a 100 foot cord at walmart.

  9. You should easily find cords of this length at most electronic stores.  This is not all that long.
