I have been wanting to buy a good microscope for a couple of years and I don't know where to get them. I really don't want to get them online because I am only 12 and don't have a credit card. Also dont say anything for like, $20. Thanx.

  1. One good outlet for good lab grade microscopes that are generally in good shape and reasonable cost, is second-hand shops. This is a good source especially if you happen to live in a college town. High schools and junior colleges, even universities are a good possibility. Look through your phone book, the yellow pages, under school supply outlets, scientific instrument manufactures and suppliers.  At a pawn shop, you can expect to get a good lab microscope for between $25.00 and $75.00.  You want to check these devices out carefully before you purchase it.  Quality microscope don't end up in a pawn shop for no reason.

Hobby shops may be able to give you some leads.  You might even consider running an ad in your local paper seeking a good used microscope.

Post some cards with the appropriate information on college campus' and at local stores if they have a place for such ads.

    Good Luck.

  2. Check here:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i...

    You can find it.

    Good luck!

  3. Many universities and colleges sell off surplus equipment. Check out their web pages for sales or email various departments (look for the supply person(s)).

Also, many cities have suppliers/dealers of used scientific equipment, check the local Yellow Pages.

If a credit card is an issue you can get a pre-paid card (a parent will need to approve) so you can order on-line.
