  1. Sort of like buying a door before the house is built aint it?

Why dont you go to a boat dealer and just buy both at the same time?

  2. look on ebay or if u live in the north east look in the bargain news

  3. I just got one off Ebay.

You should also check criagslist and see if theres anything in your area.

Make sure you can look at the motor before you buy it. Start it up and make sure the water pump is working ok and it holds idle alright. Just look around for the best deal, but again check out E bay and craigslist.

If your not looking to spend much, just something to get you around, go used. New outboards are expensive.  You should be able to get a reliable (Johnson, Mercury, Evinrude, Yamaha) motor for below $500 easy.

For a dingy, i'd look on Craigslist too, in my area i found that small inflatable dingys are cheaper on craigslist than on Ebay.

Theres always west marine, they have good dingys if you dont mind paying more you can get a new one for under $1000 there. But i'd go and get a used one.

Theres quite a few ads from what ive seen of a "buy a dingy/motor together" on craigslist.
