  1. Basically, if you were given a squirt(not spray)  bottle at the hospital in your take home pack, there you go. You fill the tub just enough to cover your bits, as a previous poster said, and use the bottle to gently move the water over your parts, keep it submerged, you just want to create a gentle current, not spray yourself as that's painful. It is quite messy and it's best if you have a shower stick to help clean the tub afterwards. A bidet is a european toliet for women, where you squat over the bowl and it sprays water up into your bits, the outside at least, and isn't really good for tears. Good luck!

  2. I would guess try a pharmacy? You can just use your regular tub though - just a very warm shallow salt bath is all you need :) Enough salt to dissolve easily, enough water to cover  all the necessary bits & sit in it for about 20 mins. Good luck :)

  3. I had my baby June 23 & had a really bad tear & was supposed to use one too. The nurses packed up a bag of stuff for me to take home when I left but they never put that in there. I called all around & couldn't find one at any pharmacy. I was told that hospital/ health supply stores (the ones that sell walkers, canes, etc) have them but I couldn't find any stores near me. I just went to Target & got an empty plastic squirt bottle like the one they gave me in the hospital & used that. It worked fine since I never had problems healing, but I still needed my pain medicine just to go to the bathroom for a while :o(

  4. I had a 4th degree laceration/tear.  I sitz bath can be done in your tub. Fill your tub about 6inches to a foot and then add epsom salt.  I would suggest laying a towel down in the tub for cushion.  Use the squirt bottle the hospital gave you to do the cleaning.

When you are out of the bath, use Tucks medicated pads with witch-hazel.  Those are so soothing!  You can fold them in half and line your undies with them. I would put either a pad or a pantyliner down first.

Take it very easy and good luck.

  5. You should be able to pick one up at a local pharmacy.

Sorry you are still in pain, just remember to take it easy! :)

  6. A sitz bath is just in a regular bath tub.  You fill the water only up a few inches as warm as you can stand.  Some people put epsom salt in it too.

  7. I would ask your doctor.  They gave me one at the hospital to take home.  You can also just sit in the bathtub
