  1. try at http://www.handmadesword.com

a good professional website for real functional katana swords.

    Good luck!

  2. though extremely durable, titanium can not be hardened to the point of holding a descent edge.

If you really want an "indestructable" sword try looking for swords made from L6 aka bainite tool steel.

This steel is commonly used to produce industrial high quality tools for working steel.  it's a lot harder than common steel.

  3. hope u got loads of dosh

  4. Why would you want a titanium katana. Titanium would not hold an edge and is not an appropriate material for a sword.

  5. while semi-entertaining movies- the concept of using titanium in the "blade" movies was not a realistic one.

"best" sword misconceptions- your titanium discussion is in here:

    swords from movies:

also the "ninja to" did not exist historically, while it is possible to have a smith fashion for you a historical "choku-to" (straght bladed katana), and simply have them place on or you put on a square tsuba (cross-guard) yourself, it is not a historically existing sword.

also I would be wary of a swordsmith who claims thier swords are "fully-functional" as there is much more to it than that.

my guess is that you don't NEED it because if you did as part of a martial arts school (kenjutsu) you wouldnt' be asking for a ninja to and you certainly would have been instructed by your teacher not to buy one out of titanium- many schools have discount arrangements with local smiths as well.

EDIT: also I thought if you are serious I should give you a few more links with realistic information about purchasing a katana or any sword.

first off- expect to spend in the $1000 range for a real replica (non-antique but real live blade katana).

you can find them for cheaper but if you don't know how to discern a rip off from a real one (which gets REALLY blurry closer to the 500ish range) you are more likely to be ripped off. better to overpay for a real katana than pay $600 for a $40 wallhanger.

wallhanger= decorative sword like object that may be sharp, but not meant to be used- used for decoration.

I know a reputable sword company bugei trading company, played around with making katanas out of l6 banite- not sure if they are any good but the price is more costly than quality aisi anyway so thats kind of prohibitive (I believe they started at around $5000) when you might be able to pick up an antique for that much.
