Where can I buy a threaded mixer/filter to go in the end of a mixer kitchen tap?

It needs to be a male fitting with about a 1" diameter. I know 24mm is not right - too loose. What sizes do they come in anyway?

These are usually supplied with the mixer tap by the manufacturer and can't be bought off the shelf.

We have one, it works great, wouldn't be without it.  

It came with  various adaptors to fit presumably all types of threads.
