Question:

Where can I buy a warm winter coat that doesn't make me look like a snowman or a grandma?

I live in Minnesota. I need a warm winter coat. However, it seems like department stores (like Macy's and Nordstrom) cater to plump grandmotherly types, catalogs (like LL Bean, Lands End), etc. cater to skiiers who are don't mind looking like a gigantic cotton ball on legs, and women's apparel shops like Ann Taylor cater to girls who live in California and just wear a coat to look festive, not because they actually need one to be warm.

Anybody know of a chain, designer, or online retailer who sells moderately dressy coats that are actually warm, but also stylish? I'm 26, and I have sweet curves that I want to show off with a well-fitted line. Preferably long coats. Preferably wool. Thanks!

Its from north face so its a bit expensive but you know it will be warm because they have well made products in my opinion. The have allot of other coats that are less dressy and look more like ski coats but are not "cottonbally"

  4. wear a sweatshirt warmm;)

  5. Alloy (and maybe Delias) sell peacoats and other wool coats that you can choose to buy with Thinsulate, which would fit the bill.
