Where can I buy absinthe in the UK?

You can buy Absinthe in Cardiff,I was bought a bottle for my birthday a few years ago.It didn't contain wormwood though! I think you can import it from Poland.

It was still pretty potent.How about trying a top quality Mescal ?

"La Fee" & "Sebor" both make excellent absinths so just search them online and you can buy as much absinth as you want plus all the dinky little spoons and glasses etc etc ... La Fee do award winning luxury absinths too called the XS range.

And is it illegal in the UK? Answer = NO!!!!

Any decent off licence or wines and spirits department in any of the big department stores sell it, but remember that it's brain curdling stuff, and the old proverb that SOUNDS like "Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder" does NOT apply in this case !

It's legal in the UK so long as it doesn't have more than 10 mg/kg thujone.

There are a number of online suppliers (try google), but there aren't any regulations defining what absinthe is, so they can label anything as absinthe and rip you off.

Real absinthe should get most of it's flavor from Wormwood (Artemisia absinthiana).

Erowid tells me that Tesco and Harrods sometimes carry it.

I understand my love that this is not generally available anywhere, but, I do recall an old Aesop's fable that stated "absinthe does make the heart grow fonder"

They sell it in Selfridges and ASDA in Manchester. There are a couple of legal brands you can get most places. The genuine stuff though that caused Van Gogh to cut his ear off etc is only available from under the counter or on farms in the south of France. Remember to drink it correctly you melt some sugar in a teaspoon over your shot then stir it in. Enjoy! x

you cant, however u can buy similar stuff but with a less alchol percentage at tesco, asda or any other supermarket/off license

you can buy it in threshers, if they do not have it in stock they will order it in for you

i do know 1 place but you can only buy small bottles its in gateshead metro centre in the north east.  there is a old drink shop there and sells daft little things lyk that.

i dont know the price though

he does sell lindisfarne wine there aswel you might be able to find it in the seach engine. the shop is called the elizabithian
