They are banned from import in the U.S. because they can carry monkeypox. :( If this weren't so, I'd have 2!

They are not domestic pets, and depending on where you live, you might need a license to own one.

Since they are not domestic and are wild, they will not be sold in pet stores. You can track down an exotic animal breeder to purchase from. Since they are still new in the pet industry, they sell for quite a bit. I have seen them go for $500.

Please do whatever you can to avoid people who are only breeding for money! For example those that would capture wild animals, and resell them as pets. This is not right, you should only keep one as a pet is if was born in captivity.

And also please think this through well enough. Don't be one of those people that buy a wild animal, and then later have to dump it because it proves way too much for you to handle. And from what I have read, these rats can be quite the handful!

they dont sell that in common pet shops.... cuz they are not very used as domestical pets but itdepends in were u live if ur in africa just try catching it XD but if ur not find a breeder u could find in pet co web site but i dont think there are.... but u could try. i suugest u to buy a simple rat, they are as intellingent and nice :D
