Question:

Where can I buy an electronic typewriter?

Okay. So please hear me out first before you laugh. I want a typewriter for my birthday since recieveing a laptop is literally impossible. Don't ask why.

Plus, I think it's a good subsitute. I can write my reports and stories with it without the internet as a distraction.

I HAVE TO FIND IT AND PROVE TO MY MOM THAT IT STILL EXISTS.

P.S. I'm still 16.

Could you help me out? We've already been to Glorietta-- there isn't one. Please please help me. (I don't think you can convince me to get a laptop instead. The childish writer within me says she really wants a typewriter so she could 'feel like a real writer.')

Thanks!

  1. I have an electric typewriter that I do no use.  Unfortunately, I am in the US, and there is no way to get it to you.

Word processors are way better than typewriters.  You can do all sorts of things like edit, spell check, select fonts, select type size, rearrange paragraphs.  With a typewriter, you can do none of that.

Try doing a Y! search under "word processor" to see if someone has one available for sale.

  2. I am not laughing at all. Electronic typewriter is just like the computer keyboard. Try go to shops selling printing stuffs you might find one there

  3. Try here:

    Good luck

  4. Yap, what you need is a brother word processor that has a little screen on it and where you can edit before you print. Try those duty free in Pampanga if they still exist.

  5. Okay, i'll stop laughing. hehehe.

There a place near Quiapo, i think it's Evangelista St. IBM electric typewriters were abundant there. There are other brands, of course. Just go to Quiapo and ask the folks there for directions. Evangelista St. is parallel to Quezon Blvd (right side if coming from QC). The store, our suki's place, is almost near the Rizal Avenue side. Just at the back the ever-gotesco cinema.

Beware of snatchers. Have someone to accompany you when going there.
