Question:

Where can I buy an insulated cover for my refrigerator?

Recently, we bought a new refrigerator, and put the old one in the garage. It's working fine, but I know that being in an non-airconditioned area can really put a strain on the unit.

I've heard about covers that can be bought that are insulated and run across the top and down the sides, to keep more of the cold air in.

I'm hoping to be able to purchase one online - so if anyone knows where I can get one - please let me know!

Also, if they are hard to find, and anyone knows an easy way to make a cover - please feel free to post that info!

Thanks everyone!

  1. I never heard of such a thing, but you got my wheels turning.  You could purchase ductwork insulation, the kind with the vinyl exterior and wrap it in that.  I wonder if it would really work, though.  I mean the door would be your biggest heat loss and it would be almost impossible if not unsightly to insulate it.  Then the back and bottom of the unit would be exposed as well, and would need to remain exposed for proper operation.  I wonder if it's even worth it.  After all, soda machines are outside all the time and work just fine.
