Carophyll red is a proprietary form of the carotenoid pigment canthaxanthine, also known as food orange 8 (a commercial food colorant); orobronze; roxanthin red 10; beta,beta-carotene-4,4'-dione.

Because canthaxanthine can be used in humans as an artificial tanning agent, but oral use causes severe eye problems (canthoxanthine retinopathy), it has been banned for import or sale in the US because it is considered an unsafe additive.  Brand names for these "tanning tablets" include Elusun, Orobronze, and others.

There are a number of commercial canary foods that do contain this chemical; you might just search for "canthoxanthine canaries" with your country name to find one.
