Where can I buy good cat food?

I'm getting a 4 year old cat tomorrow and I was curious if it was better to go to a grocery store or a pet store. I want good quality healthy food, a big bag, and not extremely pricey. Sure I'll spend whatever, I just want her healthy.

I would go to a pet store and ask them about different choices for your cat and its needs. Then ask if a generic grocery store brand would be best for your cat. You should let the person you're speaking with at the pet store about your cats current health.

I have two dogs one has had Iams since he was a puppy and has the most beautiful coat and skin...my other dog does better on Science Diet. I also do cat rescue and feed dry Iams, which is quality cat food, I have some cats that do great on canned Nutro Natural Choice....Science Diet is great too....but you need to feed quality pet food....less clean up in the yard or litterbox....Petsmart, Petco, Petclub, Petfood Express...probably a pet store would be the only place you could get some of these premium foods...Again you only get what you pay for....I have used these foods for yrs. and they are good.....hope this helps.....

I have always gone to Meijes in my town I always get the same 2 kind of brands for my kittens/ cats  which is Meow Mix and Purina. I just want to keep my animals healthy two and I have never gone wrong on the two cat foods I use.

That's so sweet ! I would recommend going to petco hen you go there ask an assistant he or she will help you around to find the healthiest food ever or they sell some at the 99 CENT STORE

I would suggest you purchase your food from a pet shop or feed store, BUT first you need to read up on cat nutrition and understand what your cat needs and how to interpret the ingredients.

I look for foods that do not contain a lot of corn or wheat and go for meat protein and not animal by products. Purina has corn gluten and wheat

Do your research and then pick the product that you feel is best for your cat.  Ground corn is not a meat and is not good for your cat.

Grocery stores and the really bog chains tend to carry lower-quality food.  If you have a smaller pet store near you, you are more likely to find good-quality food there.  I am a big fan of Taste of the Wild.  You can check the store locater on their website to see if they sell it somewhere close to you

you should look into buying eagle pack cat food... it can be bought online or in pet stores, and i'm only suggesting this brand because it helps animals to live 2-3 years longer. i've fed it to my two cats and dogs and one of my cats lived to be 17 because of it whereas other cats i've had of the same breed fed on different food have lived only to 14 or so... otherwise, you can buy Iams or any good brand of cat food at pet stores usually.
