Where can I buy grass clippings and tree leaves?

I'm trying to produce compost to use in my garden. The local gardners are not very helpfull. Also, the grass clippings and tree leave collected from my front and back yard are not enough.

I prefer to produce my own compost. Your assistance will be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Mike

  1. volentarly rake others lawns and cut there grass or cut grass on side of road where nobody cares

  2. Mike, here's a suggestion. When you hear your neighbours mowing their lawns, or see them out raking, take note of the ones who have set bags of leaves and grass clippings out on the curb or by the garbage pickup. You can contact them then, and  ask if you can have it, or call the town office and ask the sanitation department if you can take any of it. Hope this helps!

  3. Well you could go mow grass for free and haul it your self with a bag attached to your lawn mower... mine mulches as it mows... Or look up on line, or go to the woods this fall there will be a lot. You can also ask nieghbors to keep the bags of leaves  they rake for you...I also do that with people I know.   I use the woods to in the fall and I also gather in my lawn mower bag as I cut grass all summer.. Good luck on your fine.

  4. Call your local parks and highway departments, they are responsible for collecting yard waste and turning them into compost. In my area, getting the compose from them is also free.

  5. Talk to your neighbours they might be willing to donate their green waste, mine do. Can you find out where the gardeners dispose of their clippings? Does it just go into landfill and can you pick it up from there?
