I love buying local handcrafts from all the places I visit and I will be travelling through the ACT region in June. Where can I shop?

  1. You could try various local markets.

There's the old Bus Depot markets in Kingston, open every Sunday.

There's the Hall markets at Hall showground, just outside of Canberra, on the first Sunday of the month.

There's also the Captain Flat markets on the first Saturday of the month.

  2. Elfie has given you some good suggestions. The Captain Flats Markets are a bit ordinary. I suggest taking a short trip out to a town called Bungendore, you will find a few shops out there where hand made goods will be on offer. I highly recommend X-Gallery for hand crafted silver jewellery. There are also a few great little cafes to check out also not to mention the two pubs. And if you like wine there are a few good vineyards out that way also.

Another suggestion would be Gold Creek Village on the way out to hall. There are numerous shops and cafes and another top pub that serves pretty good food.

  3. gormon house on ainslie avenue is always worth a look and the bus depot markets in kingston are okay.
