Where can I buy milk where the cows have not eaten any soy protein?

My daughter is not allergic to milk, however she is severely allergic to soy protein. When she drinks milk she shows some allergic symptoms and I believe it is because dairy cattle are fed grain that contains very much soy protein. This then is being transferred to the milk. Is there any brand of milk where the cows are not fed any soy?

You could try a local farm; I think that's the only way.  Companies like Hood and Garelick get their milk from multiple sources.

Contrary to popular belief, children don't need milk.  We are the only species on the planet that drinks another species milk.  There are many sources that she can get calcium from, you can get soy-free supplements at the natural food store and possibly the regular supermarket.  A lot of veggies have calcium but they are usually veggies that kids aren't crazy about, dark green leafy stuff, broccoli and spinach etc.  Oh and if you are dark skinned you should supplement vitamin D also if she isn't drinking milk.  Talk to her doctor first before adding supplements to her diet.

It depends on where you live, but look for "grass fed" or "pasture fed" on the label.  Regular supermarkets are not likely to carry it, but Whole Foods and other markets that specialize in organic and "green" products usually have some.

At Whole Foods Markets, there are a couple of different brands of "raw" milk that claim on the bottles (not cartons) that their cows are pasture fed (grass only).  But can you really be sure they're telling the truth?  

Maybe your daughter can get her calcium and Vitamin D needs met elsewhere?
