Just plain black or white vans are fine. Where could I purchase them and where's the cheapest place to buy them?

  1. Toyota Hi-Ace's are common on the seond hand market. Look at Turners' Auctions for them, any used car dealer will have access to them. Remember you get what you pay for.

  2. If it starts with M or N and is a diesel - don't buy it. They are known as 'shrapnel' motors.

Best go for a Toyota LiteAce, TownAce or HiAce, and these are available from all Toyota dealers plus most yards that specialise in vans.

I purchased a HiAce with 120 000km on the clock and ran it up to 500 000, the only work done on the motor was to repair a leak in the radiator. (A friend of mine ran one up to 1 050 000 km with no unusual hassles with it.) When I bought mine, there was also a Nissan Caravan available with 80 000 on the clock. My mechanic told me that the Nissan's motor was getting near the end of its life whereas the Toyota was hardly run in.

Check out the yellow pages for car dealers or auto sales for your area, or look in the daily newspaper on a Wednesday or Saturday..

  3. Plenty around NZ - check out online http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-me-motors... - you can even buy them online.

My brother bought two vechicles off this site with no problems.
