  1. Here are some places:

And this lady sells it too:

Read this link to explain the link above:

    Look at Pretty Petals:

I remember someone giving me this link but I've never looked for it:

    Hope this helps.

  2. The old "Dip It" kits haven't been sold in the US for a long time now because some of the ingredients aren't considered "safe."  They are still sold in the UK and Europe, I believe, but *don't* think they're allowed to be sent into the US.

You might want to check out the Pretty Petals kit instead but it's not nearly as satisfactory, and you can also make something similar with Gallery Glass, etc.

For more info on those things, check out this page at my site:

(...click on Glass Paints & Dip It Simulations...)

If you really want to try and use resin, you can get more info and suppliers re epoxy and polyester resins on tht same page.

Also, you might want to try something called liquid polymer clay... there are several brands of it, and it must be heated to cure (in a home oven or with a heat gun).  But you can create all kinds of interesting films with it, color it or put inclusions into it, as well as using wire shapes around it.

If you're interested in that idea, check out this page:

    http://glassattic.com/polymer/LiquidScul...

(...click on "Films"...and maybe also on "Inclusions & Coloring")

And perhaps check the section on making "Wings" on this page for similar ideas involving ways to make transparent or translucent wings surrounded by wire too:
