Question:

Where can I buy squid online and have it shipped to my home?

I used to frequent Chinese restaurants and there was one in particular that would always have this amazing fried salt and pepper squid. I literally got addicted to it.

So I tried calling them one day to ask if they do catering, and if I could order that particular dish in bulk. I never got a straight-forward answer. They didn't speak english very well so it was pretty frustrating and I just gave up. It also gets costly to visit there every time I simply want one of the dishes.

So I decided to make it myself. But finding squid here in the US is pretty tough. Does anyone know of a website where it can be ordered? No luck so far..thanks!

  1. finding squid isn't that hard.  where do you live?  try an asian store in your area.

  2. squids gross use chicken instead

  3. I have frozen squid in the frozen seafood section of my normal grocery store -- Meijer.  You should try calling all of the regular groceries around you; they are bound to have it.  It isn't uncommon.  It isn't expensive either -- about $4 a pound.  Will be so expensive if you order it online.  I tried to order crabmeat online once and it was going to cost over $10 shipping.  Silly.

Any asian store will have frozen squid too.  It is the preparation that'll be the hard part.

  4. I've shipped crab through seafoodbuynet or something like that and they did a good job.  I think that's it.

    Good luck!

  5. foley's fish in Mass. it is the best I've ever used in my 15 yrs cooking. absolutely no smell! And I have squid and I'll eat this one>

  6. I searched for online food sellers. Below is just one that sells squid.
