Where can I buy wine aging barrels?

Well I just made my first batch of wine at home. It's still in the 1 gallon container and I was going to pour it straight into a bottle but my friend told me I should put it into an oak barrel and let it age for a few months. He said it also gives it flavor. So I looked around the internet but only found really expensive 1 gallon barrels. I only plan on spending like $30-$50 on a 1 gallon barrel and everywhere I search they're like $80-$100. So... my question is does anyone know where I can buy good oak barrels fore less than $50. Post a site link of name a store. Anything helps.

  1. Buy a 4 oz bag of oak chips from a wine and beer supply store online. Leave it in the wine for a 2 weeks and then taste. If you have enough oak decant and bottle, if not leave it longer.

  2. http://www.brewhaus.com/Oak_Kegs_s/23.ht...

The cheap ones might be too toasted for wine.

  3. I am not going to narrow it down for you...
