Where can I dine solo in London, near Covent Garden, Soho, Picadilly?

I'm looking for good food - maybe a gastropub, where I can dine solo, either at the bar, or with a view of the passing crowds...any suggestions?

well, it is not a gastopub or something like that, but there is this restaurant in Soho, 21 Great windmill street, it's called melati and they serve delicious Malaysian food, i strongly recommend...

Have you tried tiger tiger?? it's a bit pricey but it's good and you can watch the world go by! or actually in covent garden... there are loads of nice places to eat there!
