I would like to dispose of garage sale items but don't know the best way. Bedding and Clothing I would like to go to a womans shelter. Everything else could go to a resale shop to raise money. I don't have a vehicle equipt to transport all of it. Do some places pick up? I don't want to just throw everything away if someone can use it.

  1. You can call either amvets (216) 662-0340, purple hearts (216) 731-1924,catholic charities (216) 696-6525or easter seals (216) 662-4483.  All 4 pick up or you can dial 211 and they will connect you directly with a shelter and you can explain the lack of transportation and they may arrange for a pick up.  Consignment shops are trickier.  There are not many around.

  2. Yes, I would try Amvets. I get something in the mail about once a month about how they are coming out, and to leave my stuff on the curb if they are to take it. That is great of you to donate!!

  3. An abused women's shelter or homeless shelter can always make use of such items.

  4. ok trust me this works in about a hour. post a ad on www.craigslist.com  I did this last week its free and within 10 min i had people wanting to pickup the stuff.

  5. sometimes goodwill will pick it up thats what i do

  6. Take it to a goodwill facility check your phone book or call AMVETS, They will come and pick it up.  Let them know if there are any large items.  Also there might be a dropoff in your neighborhood for the diabetes association.

  7. maybe you could try to have another garage sail!

  8. You can call the shelters and ask if they can pick up, some do, most don't.

You can list with Yahoo groups Freecycle... This is the one for West of the River... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClevelandO...

I know there is also one East of the River but I don't have that link.
