Where can I do community service at the last minute in Austin, Tx?

My boyfriend and I have 8 hrs to do and every where we call requires orientation or can't help us. Are there any places that you can just walk into and volunteer or call and schedule a walk-in for the next day?

Recycling center, police dept., fire dept.,? We're desperate; we have to turn the sheet in a couple of days!
