Where can I donate a snake?

Hello there, I have a 16 year old Columbian Red Tail Boa that I am looking to donate. The question is, where could I offer to donate him to? I am in Northern NJ and honestly don't have a clue as to where would take a fully grown reptile like him. Any ideas?

You should donate the snake to the zoo.OOOOR depending on the s*x of your snake you could give it to a breeder of  culumbian red tail boas.

Contact local reptile clubs. There is one in NYC and one in Philadelphia. IDK about any in NJ.

look for a reptile club, most areas have them, if you are not sure if your area has one, call your local pet store.. HOWEVER do not donate him to the store.. do not tell them why you are calling - only ask if their is a local HERP club

Have you looked up your local animal shelters or pet stores that would take him?

You can call up your local zoo's also and ask if you can make a donation. I would recommend that more because they would treat him better then a pet store would.

You can also put up signs of giving away a snake in your neighborhood, somebody might be interested.

try putting him up on a site like kijiji or craig's list. (just google it) it's an online classified site. just put it under the pet section.

you ca try the zoo, but most zoos tend to be overcrowded with big snakes as it is. if there is a reptile um... museum... thing (i dunno what it's called. it's like a zoo, but only for reptiles) you can try there. most major cities have them. it'd be even better then a zoo, since many zoos don't even know how to properly take care of reptiles. even if the zoo can't take your snake however, they will probably put you in contact with some ppl who can.
