Hello I'm 13, and me and my friends are thinking of donating our old stuff to people in need. I have tons of stuff at my house that I don't use anymore..and I really want to help someone.

I have tons of books, clothes that don't fit me anymore-like ALOT, food, hair assesories, tons and tons of shampoos/conditioners, toothbrushes-not used..they were for a project, blankets that I don't need anymore, pillows, stuffed animals, medicines, and alot more.

And my friends also have alot of stuff they don't need anymore too. I bet we could fill like alot of backpacks with these. But idk where to donate all of them..and what programs I should donate to. I heard that Africa was a good place to donate these..but idk where to start.

I really want to donate to people who really NEED help..like who suffer everyday and might die.

Anyone have good suggestions..websites. places that I can donate these to? (plz be a place where they give it directly to them, and are trustworthy).

tyvm!

  1. freecycle.com  its free and folk will pick up at your timing.

  2. goodwill.

  3. salvation army ,good will ,or you can help the homless

  4. Goodwill does very little good in my community.....but as far as the Salvation Army goes...I see their food kitchens, and giving food to needy, and even giving vouchers for people who do not have clothes and furniture.

  5. hospice, goodwill, safe haven houses for mothers and children. there is alot in need.Look in phone book to find local ones.

  6. have a HUGE yardsale and donate the money to a favorite charity.Leftover junk take to Salvation Army

  7. If you and your friends do not know anyone in need, just call your church office.  I know for certain that they receive requests all the time for help.  If there is a women's shelter in your city, call and ask what they need.  Sometimes these abused women and children have to leave home in the middle of the night without their clothing or personal items.  It is so good of you to think of others.  May God bless you!!

  8. salvation army, they give the stuff to people that need it...

  9. talk to your mom and dad. try the salvation army, or a homeless shelter. good luck.

  10. salvation army. <- just like goodwill, i guess. ha.

  11. well, your chuch probaly has a place to donate stuff

  12. Goodwill. Salvation Army. There are tons of charities. Pick one or give some to a few. Thank you for your generosity.

  13. it's www.freecycle.org

salvation army, good will, and red cross are good

be careful about other organizations-many are for profit-like teh clothing bins with the DARE logo-they pay DARE to use the name-sell the clothes and keep the profit for themselves

  14. A domestic violence shelter in your area.  They take things for kids too.  Call United Way, which works as a referral agency and ask in your area where to donate such items.
