Where can I donate stuffed animals besides police stations, Goodwill or Salvation Army?

Question

I would rather them go directly to people who would appreciate them instead of them having to buy them. If I wanted to go that route I would sell them and donate the proceeds myself instead. And, the local police stations are not accepting them.

For sure a shelter for battered/abused women. They are always in such need.

HI there,

I know someone has mentioned it but I would like to elaborate...  think about taking some of them to a nursing home.   My mom was in a nursing home/care facility before she passed away last year and when we went to visit, I noticed some of the people had stuffed animals.  Some were holding them and some decorated their beds with them.   What is not so important to people who have alot... is SOOO important to people who have nothing but a tiny room and their clothes.  Some of the ladies were actually clinging to the stuffed toys... watching TV with them...  napping with them... having dinner with them.   It was kind of sad really...  but while hospitals could use the toys...  there are always toys available for them.  Some of these elders don't even have people to come and visit... so having the stuffed animal is like having a really true friend.  Think about it.  Pray about it...  you will find the right answer I am sure.

There is law pertaining 'stuffed animals' and certificates are mentioned that they were stuffed befor a certain year ? 1950. You would then do well to put then in an Auction Rooms as 'secondary antiques sale' and you could get good money, some money if you do not put a reserve on them. Good Luck.
