  1. ALHAMBRA "ABC CAFE"

  2. Korea town is full of restaurants.

  3. I can't tell you because i don't live in L.A. Los angeles is too big you have to narrow it down like south central L.a. or south eastern l.a. try going to google maps and then click find businesses. on the first bar type in chinese food and then on the next bar type in Los Angeles

  4. Would it hurt to explore?

  5. For Korean Hot Pot, I have two recommendations:

If you're in the San Gabriel Valley area, consider Lee's Tofu House, tofu pots are really good with reasonable prices. Specialty is the tofu hot pot & galbi BBQ along with all of those great spicy little dishes that it comes with, and commonly associated with Korean restaurants.

Another is (sorry but I don't recall the name, but it was one of the first and original locations that opened back in the late 80's or early 90's.  It's still opened and operating.  Still very popular and THE BEST for Korean Hot Pot. It's also very very busy after 7:00 p.m.  It's at the southeast corner of Olympic (on Olympic) & So. New Hampshire Blvd. (just 1/2 block west of Vermont).  It's located in a two story shopping center, tucked in the corner, on the 1st floor.  There are several in the area, however this is, in my opnion the most authentic of them all, and I HIGHLY recommend.

Now there are many of these throughout So. California (City of Industry, Hacienda Hgts), so simply google "korean tofu restaurant" and several will pop up for a location near you, overall, they're all very similar.

Chinese Hot Pot:  The only one I can think of is Luk Yu Restaurant, on Garfield (north of Garvey Avenue, in a shopping center next to a chinese grocery store), Monterey Park.  This is authentic! This type of hot pot is a variety of stewed meats and vegetables that's cooked in & comes in its pot; or rice cooked in its hot pot with meats and/or vegetables cooked with it.

However if you're looking more for a "shabu shabu" style hot pot, try Mon Land Hot Pot City in San Gabriel, pretty good too!

  6. You can't go wrong exploring Chinatown.  There are tons of great restaurants there.  You could go there everyday for months and never eat at the same place twice
