Manna is another famous vegetarian restaurant although slightly more expensive than others.

There are several Thai buffet restaurants in various locations in Soho - eg. Greek St.  These offer veggie food at good prices.

In Covent Garden, Food for Thought is a good choice, although sometimes very busy.  Nearby Neals Yard offers a selection of veggie cafes.

Most ethnic restaurants also tend to offer a wide range of veggie food.

    I could go on...

  15. Indian restuarents is a good choice cause you'll find alot to choose from.

  16. Try Govinders, its in Soho Street, the tiny street that connects Oxford Street to Soho Square. Run by the Hare Krishnas, it has some delicious food at very reasonable prices -- I love their olive-bread. 9-10 Soho Street London W1 Tel: 020-7437 3662

Also, just of Leicester Square is Woodlands, a branch of the veggy Indian restuarant chain. (37 Panton St, London, SW1Y 4EA - 020 7839 7258 http://www.woodlandsrestaurant.co.uk

Indeed, you can get good veggy meals in any Indian restaurant.

  21. 1. Lots of Vietnamese restaurants, Lower Kingsland Road - just up from Old Street.

    2. There are a few veggie restaurants on Stoke Newington Church Street, Stoke Newington - not the cheapest place to eat though.

    3. Stoke Newington High Street has loads of turkish and kurdish places - great if you want a veggie meze with great salad and bread...just make sure to specify that you don't want Tarama/Taramamasalata (fish).  Some allow you to bring your own beer/wine, so the price becomes more reasonable.

    4. Brick lane - loads of Indian restaurants, always good for veggie food - also allows you to bring your own wine/beer...don't forget to haggle for poppadoms and discounts on the menu price (for a group of 4 or more you should be able to get 2 poppadoms each, 25% off the menu price and either a free drink or 10% off at the off-sales)...

    5. On Greek Street, Soho, there is a decent little vegan place with loads of mock (tofu) meat things - actually all over Soho there are a load of vegan spots.

As an aside, I can highly recommend Realeat products over Quorn products for protein replacement...the Realeat mince is particularly good (have fooled many corpse eaters with my spaghetti bolognese)...

  22. You can eat them on a train, you can eat them on a plane. You can eat them here or there, you can eat them everywhere... just kidding. I'm sure you will find your fill of delightful dining in L-town but remember this; your best bet for a true taste of the local culture will be at festivals, also, ask any local people you happen to meet. They will be more than happy to point you in the right direction, possibly even join you for lunch. Good luck and have fun.
