  1. Everyone's definition of "cheap" is different. Chances are you will find 5 or 7 night but not 6. It also depends on the ship/cruise line, the type of accomodations (interior - least expensive), ocean view (a little more) and balcony or suite.

You also don't say how many people and exactly when. Prices tend to go down later in Aug and into Sep.

Work with a cruise specialist. You never pay more than the c/l direct and many times less because we know how to find the best "value" (it's really value not price that you want). for example, many times there are special promotions where an ocean view can be just a little more than an interior but gives you more value for your money.

  3. Try www.spendlesstravel.com.... they offer comparable if not cheaper prices than many others... also have several special deals at times... with different cruice lines... or call their Concierge service and they can sometimes save you even more money...

  5. August 7th the date that you say you want to go on a cruise is just over two weeks away and so you are not going to find any cheap cruises or deals as the cruise lines give the best discounts to early bookers, people who book months in advance.  You will pay at this point the book rate for your cruise.  It may seem like a deal but the same cruise could probably have been books for a couple hundred less six months ago.

The best way to find a cruise that is priced like you want it and goes where you want to go in the Caribbean is to go to each cruise line web site and shop around.  Even if you decide to use a travel agent you should shop around so that you know for sure what your options are for cruises and prices.

  6. In most cases, prices are actually set by each cruise line, and agents sell them. Some will discount their commission a bit or offer some sort of bonus.  You can check any of the major travel sites for idea of prices, which can vary each week.

Realize that some tease you without showing all teh taxes and port fees. You normally won't find a huge difference between agents of the final price. That changed a few years ago.

A 7 nt cruise could be cheaper than a 6 nt. It depends on where you are located. Most Caribbean cruises go out of Florida, but there are some out of Galveston/Houston, Texas and New Orleans.

September cruises to that area are often the cheapest of the year, due to the potential of hurricane season.

    Early December is cheap too.

The best prices that I have found overall are from www.cruisequick.com.

HOWEVER they do not hold your hand. What I mean is that you need to know what cruise you want, what ship, date and category. You cannot call them, they do not answer a phone.

They are internet based only, completely legitimate, and offer a bonus or discount that most other agents don't offer.

They work on a flat fee profit and are completely automated.

    They do answer emails promptly.

Their site explains how they work. I have used them for years, without any problems. They offer free price quotes via email that include all port fees, taxes etc.

    Happy Cruising !
