  1. well if you come to my backyard you have a choice of very young feral kittens who need a good home....I have one almost domesticated and she is white with a lot of gray on her body. We feed them so they have set up shop and one solid white mother moved her babies to our yard because she is being fed everyday. The youngest come out and play at night. They are so cute you want to play with them yourself but of course you get to close and they dash away.

  2. Check with the local animal shelter, but there is usually a small fee. Ask friends and neighbors if they know of any free kittens.

  3. go to petfinders.org

  4. a local vet

  5. Print page that says looking for free kittens.  if you want to find homes for your kittens call this number.  post them around at stores and such.

  6. What are you going to do with the free kittens? If you are looking for kittens to be your pets, it is a much better deal to adopt them from a shelter. The fee you pay the shelter will usually cover the shelter's discounted cost of having the kittens tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS, vaccinations, deworming, and spaying/neutering. If you find free kittens, the price of having these necessities done will usually be at least 3 times higher than the fee the shelter charges you. For example, the local vets in my area charge nearly $200 for a kitten to be spayed, plus kittens need to be dewormed and vaccinated, which could be another $100 once all the boosters have been given. Leukemia/FIV (feline version of HIV) test could be another $50. The shelter at which I volunteer charges $75 for a kitten which has all vaccinations, dewormed, defleaed, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and FeLV/FIV tested (some shelters charge less). That is a huge savings. Check your yellow pages under "animals" and look for humane societies and animal shelters. They are usually overwhelmed with kittens in need of homes at this time of year. Irresponsible people don't spay and neuter their cats, so there are always more kittens born than there are homes for them.
