I couldn't find it at Kroger on Chinoe. If you live in Lexington, will you tell me where I can find it? I want to make Ice cream in a bag. I have the whole recipe, but I need rock salt.

  1. Wal-Mart will have it in the seasonal - summer section.  It may be on clearance - ours is.  Check in the canning section as well - it may have been put in that section.  I would call them first!

If you cannot find it in those sections, try a hardware store - ask the associate for rock salt, and you may find that they use it for snow or ice removal, not making ice cream.  Since you are not allowing your ice cream to come in contact with the salt, using salt for snow removal is fine.

  2. Your local grocer.

  3. You got a Wal Mart?

  4. Yeah I live in Lexington. Go to Kroger's or Meijer's.

  5. You should be able to find it at any grocery or drug store.  Perhaps you were looking on the wrong aisle.  I suggest a visit to the customer service desk.

  6. Go to the manager of your local stores and ask them to special order it for you... Or just buy it online...

You can buy ANYTHING online and have it shipped right to your house!

  7. If you are unable to find any in your area here is a recipe that I found on the web

Heat some water. While it's heating, dissolve as much salt in it as possible. Keep going until the water gets to the boiling stage.

When the boiling water cannot take any more salt (a saturated solution) take the mixture off the stove and let it cool. The salt will form crystals as the water evaporates.

Crush the salt crystals, and you've got rock salt.
