  1. Very few ships have single cabins any more. Any that do are so old that it would not be worth the cruise. For a smaller cabin it will cost about 150% of the rate. For a large cabin it will be 200% of the rate. If you book early you can get prices that a well below the brochure rate. See a travel agent who specializes in cruises for the best prices.

  2. Since i don't know what port you will be leaving from you can do a quick vacation search on RCL.  Here's the link:

    http://www.royalcaribbean.com/gohome.do

  3. I find that a travel agent is the best way to go. They can give you tons of info that the on-line sites just can't do, I've tried! An Alaskan cruise is the next cruise that I want to take, have heard that it is beautiful!!! Have a blast!

  4. how about the alaskan cruiseline

  5. alaska is a heavy sailed market...You are not likely to find a discount...be prepared.

As a single traveler you will be paying a single supplement...usually equal to the cruise fare for 2 people.  Cruise lines earn revenue from onboard spending.  You are taking up the space of a second person bringing valuable revenue to them.

your best bet is to check with a travel agent or a vendor that specializes in singles cruises.  Some premium cruise lines such as princess and holland america - the best in the alaska market- offer single shares.  This means that they will find a roommate for you.

This is a competitor, but I have sent people to www.vacationstogo.com as they have a list of cruises with a smaller requested single supplement.

Other portions of the web - i.e. www.cruisecritic.com will actually put together singles cruises.

another option for you is special interest groups like Jewish singles, catholic singles, single professional groups like lawyers will organize cruise groups you could look into joining.

  6. Jump in the ocean about 200 miles off the coast, and stick out your thumb.

Man, you have a dim view on the year- do you PLAN on being single 6 months from now?

  7. fasttrack ( http://www.fasttrackcruise.co.uk/ ) do princess cruises to Alaska.  i booked with them last year for a Caribbean cruise and had no problems :)

  8. Try this site:  iBtraveling.com

There's probably some message boards for singles and some good cruise deals to Alaska too.

  9. Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for...
