Where can I find a 22" LCD HD TV and DVD combi thats a good make e.g Goodmans,Bush,Samsung, LG etc?

I want a TV DVD combi because Im in Uni and I do not want lots of wires and plugs everywhere.

Sorry to disillusion you but Goodmans and Bush are not good makes of television set. You should also avoid "home brands" that are sold by supermarkets.

These things may seem cheap but they are also unreliable and you will soon get tired of the poor contrast, lack of visual angle (so unless you are almost directly in front of the screen you'll see a poor picture) and the sad fact that the on-set controls don't work if you're watching Freeview (this will cause you a problem when your remote gets lost or fails and you can't change channel).

Save your money and buy a decent make like Sony. It'll be an extra £50 than the cheap ones but you won't regret it. Go to Comet or Curry's or even Tesco (not Asda)  and make sure to get the salesman to demonstrate that the set can be operated without the remote control. If he won't or can't do this for you then Walk Away and find a shop that will help you.

You need to be sure that you can control the DVD, the volume and the built-in  Freeview tuner as a minimum. More than half of the small combis do not allow you to do this - and the box and instruction sheets don't say it.

You'll be looking at about £250-£270 for a decent 19" combi set. Make sure that you get it insured immediately.

DMTech is rated ahead of Goodmans and Bush in terms of quality and style, sorry for what could be seen as a plug but we have one at £299.  It is an excellent set!

Failing that you can can get a UMC for a little cheaper at £279. The major branded suppliers have moved their strategy away from making an all in one units, typically because they make the DVD players too and want to sell them as well as a seperate unit.

UMC is a great emerging brand made with the same quality you could expect from Goodmans or Bush.

It is very important to understand, that Goodmans and Bush are NOT good makes.  They are just cheap 'n' nasty rubbish.
