Question:

Where can I find a 38DDD supportive/convertible bra?

I am 23 years old and I am a dancer. Our annual recital is coming up and I have a BIG problem. I wear a 38DDD bra and cannot (like the other girls in the class) go on stage without a bra. The problem is, dance costumes now are made a little revealing. Two of my costumes are very low cut in the front, one is a halter with the triangle top, and the other is spaghetti straps with a triangle top and a key hole right in the middle of my b*****s. We try to make it to where the bra can't be seen. Please pass any ideas on to me. I surely don't want my b***s to be dancing more than me!

  1. try victorias secret, they have alot of convertible bras that are also supportive.

good luck in your searching, and your recital!

  2. I feel so sorry for you.  *crying*

  3. Go to a lot of different stores like Victoria's secret and aerie that has a lot of different bras. Buy a few different ones and try dancing at home while looking in a mirror. If you think they are not supportive than look at some more stores for more.

    Best of Luck!!

  4. I feel your pain.  Lane Bryant is a great shop for those sort of supportive things as well as Hanes.  Go to their shops in any big city mall.  The specialty shops have knowledgeable staff that can help and advise and they have many more styles and sizes then one would find in Walmart.  Keep looking, they are out there.

  5. Go to Victory's Secret.

  6. If you're asking for a supportive bra in that size that can't be seen, you're asking for the impossible. There are only four solutions for dancers in your situation:

    1. Find a good supportive bra that is as close to your skin tone as possible and don't worry that it's not convertible. The straps won't match, but skin tone bras are harder for the audience to notice. And if they do, tough. Even some professional modern dance companies do this with skin tone bras under costumes with the straps "showing" (that is, if you look carefully). [Note, though, that you will never find a dancer who is a 38DDD in a professional dance company.]

    2. Get a bra that matches the color of the costume and tough that you won't exactly match the other dancers with more straps showing.

    3. If your dance school supposedly encourages the participation of recreational dancers (meaning students who are not seriously training to become professionals), then you need to enlighten your teacher to be equally accommodating when it comes to the selection of costumes. They take your money to be in the classes and the annual recital; then they need to do right by you when it comes to picking an appropriate costume for the whole group. It's total c**p for a recreational dance school to "try to make it to where the bra can't be seen."  Everyone accepts an injured dancer performing with an ace bandage. Well, today's studios are also allowing students with casts, deformities and even wheelchairs to perform in recitals. They can certainly get with the times and be more accepting of diverse body types!

    4. If you really ARE a "dancer" and not just a dance student (or in musical theatre), you need to seriously consider breast reduction surgery as the dance profession won't have anything to do with chest sizes over a C cup for the very reason you gave in your last sentence.

  7. you can by a nude colored bra at a lot of dance stores

i got mine at my local store

    good luck!

  8. not sure but if you find someone that fits it let me know! shwinggg!!!

  9. Go to www.dancewearsolutions.com they have great ones that are skin color or clear.
