Where can I find a Union Pacific timetable?

Officially, this is part of research for a novel I'm writing. Unofficially, maybe it will be useful someday.

We still use timetables today on freight trains but there are no schedules. The timetable is used for knowing how to operate over the division you are on. With out some other knowledge and a rule book and several other references I think it would be Greek to most folks. Heck it is Greek to some of the new kids running engines today. But if you are looking for passenger schedules I am sure the Amtrak page can help. The old ones are fun to read I them back to 1941 through 1988 for the MKT railroad but will never part with them.

Most railroads, including mine (CSX) do not permit timetables or other info to be given to the public, especially after 9/11.  However, you can sometimes get one on Ebay that somebody "lost" or that is out-of-date.

Timetables no longer actually contain times, since freights are not rigorously scheduled, but there's a lot of other info in them, like track maps, signal rules, speed limits, and other stuff.  If you're doing research like this, it's probably easier to go to http://www.trains.com register there, and then ask the questions on their forums.

Well, if you're hoping to include an origin for UP Timetables distributed to the public, I don't think one exists. But, if you're actually looking for a timetable, I have one, and could trade you a timetable for a copy of your novel

Union Pacific timetable of what?  Union Pacific do not run passenger trains and freight trains don´t have timetables.
