Where can I find a book about British fighter planes?

We live near an RAF base and we see many many different jets on manouvers during the day, and want to find out what type they are. Can you recommend any books for helping with this?

  3. I'm sure you can find anything you're looking for here at Historic Aviation.  They carry books that you can't find anywhere else.  I have been buying books from their catalog for years.

  5. I suggest"The pocket guide to Military Aircraft and the World's air forces"Published by Bounty Books,ISBN code 0-7537-0821-3.

    As the title implies,all current types operational in the world are listed.Sadly,the R.A.F don't operate enough different types of aircraft to fill a book.

  7. you could try the library, amazon, ebay or you could take a look at google images to see if there are any photo's of the planes you see and work your way through research that way! good luck

  8. Yesterday I saw a Haynes manual for the Spitfire in WH Smiths - the ww2 plane, not the sports car
