Where can I find a buildings insurer that will insure my property while I'm restoring it and it is unoccupied

My boyfriend and I were misled when we bought our property, we thought we'd be able to move in after a few months of redecorating, a year on our insurance has run out and I can't find anyone willing to insure it while we work on it and are still unable to live in it..? Can anyone help - please??

find an independent agent to write you a vacant dwelling policy.  i do it ALL the time for people in your situation.

you need a commercial lines insurance broker -- try local yellow pages and keep asking for referrals

the insurance you are wanting is usually used by rehab contractors.
