Where can I find a chart showing how to write the alphabet for a preschooler?

My son really liked a lap board size board that he got to use a dry-earase marker on to trace the letters.  Then he could also use it to refer to.   I got it at Wal-mart.

PS - A note about HW w/o tears.  They teach a non-traditional way of writing.  It is great for kids that have occupational reasons (fine motor skill problems) for having trouble with traditional writing, but it may cause problems when he starts school.

The best chart you can get is from the kindergarten your child will attend.  In the US we use 2 types of printing.  One type is block, which the letters are made of straight lines.  The other type of print is called D'nealon, which the letters have little 'tails' at the end of them, like the letter 't' in this print I am typing with.  

    It is every important that you have your child learn to write the using the print that the school they will attend does.  This will help to give your child a head start in kindergarten.  Also, please teach your child to only make the first letter in their name capital.  Just like we do in real life, this is how the teacher will expect the child to write in school.

Our school disctrict started using a program called Writing Without Tears / Handwriting without tears a few years ago - it teaches in an easy way.

If you do a yahoo! search there are dozens of sites that you can reference for materials.

Do you want Manuscript or D'Nealen? Check at a Parent Teacher Bookstore like Holcombs or The School House. Both should turn up hits on searches.
