  1. This is an answer I give anyone who asks this question. I have used this method to book my cruises and always gotten great results.

Email me if you have any other questions-- I track vacation prices as a hobby.

Follow the steps below and you will get a knock out price on your cruise:

    1. Start out at vacationstogo.com. They have reasonable rates and it's the easiest to see all of the ports and embarkation dates. They generally have good deals, but you can get it cheaper (also, note that their prices do not include government taxes, and the prices quoted are for guaranteed rooms).

2.Go to cruisecheap.com. THey will generally have better rates than vacationtogo.com.

    3. Use the rate from cruisecheap.com to get a quote from beatanycruiseprice.com. They will beat that price!

    4. Finally, go to cruisecompete.com; They will beat the quote from beatanycruiseprice.com. I still book with beatanycruiseprice.com, just because I trust them and they are SUPER nice. Make them fight for you-- the cruise industry is so oversaturated right now that most places will fight over getting a cruiser to book with them, and you will get a good deal. I just booked a Carnival 7 night Eastern Carribean for $986 for both me and my husband! You CAN cruise CHEAP!

PS: Note that the major vacation carriers (ie Travelocity, Expedia, etc) are more commercialized than say a smaller agency such as the ones I have listed above.

  2. Being flexible with your dates and your ability to travel is usually the best way to get really low rates. Also, if you don't really have a preference for lines, destinations, etc. you will likely get a better deal.

My travel agent knows that I am available a lot to travel and can go pretty easy. So she keeps me on her mailer to let me know when a last minute deal comes out, if I can go I take advantage of it.

Also, my travel agent has group rates and specials running all the time, sometimes the lines offer exclusives to an agent as well.

You will find a lot of sites advertising really low rates. I would be very cautious I have read a lot of stories on message boards, in the news, etc. of people using these sites and having complete nightmares and in some situations not getting to go at all. My agent is usually the same price or less than what I can find elsewhere, but I never question her because I know her service and how well she works with me and my needs. She keeps me up to date and takes care of everything. I would never risk my vacation for any amount of money off.

If you think you can handle the booking on your own and/or have cruising experience, then going with a site such as Expedia may not be a problem. I've been cruising for a very long time and have taken hundreds of cruises and I still would never book on my own.

    Good luck!

  3. I am a travel agent for a company called world ventures. We are running good deals on cruises. If anything you should check it out to see if we can save you some money.

  4. I worked for NCL (Norwegian Cruise Lines) They have really cheap cruises...but if you want to find the best. Talk to a travel angency or Orbitz.com

    www.ncl.com

    www.orbitz.com

  5. more and more cruises available

  6. depends on where you live...the plane fares to the ships, what ship you want, what type of cabin, etc....rosefalcontravel@netscape.net is a cruise expert and can get the lowest going rate..in the subject line type "travel with keewee"...its a password or she wont answer unknown mail.....good luck

  7. I use www.vacationstogo.com.

However, whichever service you use, be aware that the quoted fee usually does not include taxes and port fees which could add a few hundred bucks to your total.

Be sure to get your agent to outline all of the fees upfront.
