  1. Adopt a wild horse at the BLM station in Ridgecrest.  Do a web search.

  2. Go to your local rescue .... Humane society etc...

You just pay the adoption fee

  3. 99 cent store

  4. glue factory?

  5. look on the internet

  6. go on equine hits

  7. Cheap horses don't exist.  Between board, feed, farrier, vet, etc., they cost a small fortune.

  8. around sacramento? my uncle bought his wife's horse from someone for $200, a beautiful palomino

  9. Go to www.dreamhorse.com you can click on a state and find your dream horse.

  10. Go to www.equine.com and click on classified, it asks u your location and horses for sale closest t you and most can be for cheap, but future expenses will be costly

  11. If you are looking for a cheap horse, it's proof you can't afford one.

Save up and look for a good horse later.

  12. What type of a horse are you looking for? I am moving overseas and selling some of my horses and becuase of time, I am letting them go cheap - but you would have to come to me to get them. I ride professionally and have trained horses for as long as possible.

The best way to find a decent priced horse is from someone you know or who has to sell. There are so many people who cannot afford to keep their houses anymore, let alone keep horses,so there are lots of good cheap horses out there at time time - try petfinder.com or try local classified sites.

    Hope that helps.

  13. Horses don't come cheap. Expect to spend 250-400 dollars on board if its pasture or over 400 for indoor board if you can not keep it on your property. vet bills could range from 100 for a few stitches to 5000 for colic surgery. And remember horses needs vaccinations even if your not showing annual teeth floating and so on. Farrier could cost anywhere from  35 for a trim to 75 for a shod horse. Tack could range from 300- infinity pretty much but I would recommend spending 700-1000 dollars for a schooling saddle and more for a show saddle. Now remember you need a grooming kit about 100 a first aid kit 50 sports boots (for the horse) and so on. Please consider all these costs and more like exercising if you travel often and lessons. If you are still convinced you want a cheap horse then look in the newspaper my friend found a horse for 500 that is fully schooled b/c the owner just wanted him gone in the paper, look on websites, billboards at your local tack store, and talk to experienced horsemen and women for their recommendations and ask them to keep an eye out for some steals. If you are going to go ahead and buy a horse for next to nothing please bring an experienced friend along and get a vet check its no fun to end up with a sour horse or a unsound horse! Horses do not come cheap please read up on them and don't get a horse of the track unless its an exception b/c that usually does not end well

  15. Where in CA are you?  Southern, Central or Northern CA?

What type of horse are you looking for?  Does it need to be broke (Trained)?

I'm in Central CA NE of Bakersfield and I know of a couple of horses here that can be had for about $1,000.00 for the pair.  They are both broke, go well and have been in this area for a while.  It's an older couple who bought them and now their daughter's moved out.

  16. Well the expensive part of a horse is not purchasing the horse-- it's the monthly bills!  Vet, farrier, hay, grain... ect.  So before making a impulse decision on a cheap horse make sure you can afford the time, money and effort it takes daily.

As for finding the actual horse, consider adopting, petfinder.com

Ask around, you can oftentimes get a older schoolhorse or nice horse for 'cheap' you won't be getting a champion jumper or one with awesome bloodlines.
