I would like to buy a headset which I can use for VoIP/skype.

Media Markt and Saturn both sell the headsets and usually have at least one saleperson who speaks English.

Their prices are fairly decent.

PS the German for headset is 'das Headset' - I'm sure you'll cope!

first of all : just GOOGLE. i mean Erlangen is not really one of the most biggest cities in Germany but i'm pretty sure you can find something somewhere. if you have a MAC computer all you need is headphones- you get them in any electronic store ( KaDeWe, Kaufhaus, Walmart or shops where you buy cellphones)
