I'm desperately trying to find a poster of this painting once I saw it at MOMA, I have looked at all of the good poster websites such as posters.com and allposters.com, yet they only provide Kirchner's other paintings. I am truly in love with this painting and would greatly appreciate any information trying to get it!

  1. Hi!  The painting above is a similar piece and part of

the Berlin Street series but I believe this is the piece

    you're speaking of.

    I don't think it's possible to find a print or a poster

as it seems to be party to a provenance search,

just as the painting above was restituted to

its original Jewish owners from whom it was illegally

seized during WWII.  Though it's been part of the inventory

of the MOMA since 1939, I believe they are still trying to

establish, beyond any doubt, direct lines of ownership and

    so by extension, due rights.

    Quote:

The Museum of Modern Art owns approximately 600 paintings created before 1946 and acquired after 1932, that were or could have been in Continental Europe during the n**i era. Researchers at the Museum have closely examined, and are continuing to research, the ownership, or provenance, records for works that fall within this category. The majority of these works were acquired directly from the artists or have provenance records that are sufficiently complete to eliminate the likelihood of n**i misappropriation. Provenance research on these works, however, remains an ongoing project, and a priority, at the Museum.

You can read all about it below.

But here are some sites where you can get

    reproduction oil paintings of it.

You could always contact the museum and make a request

and MOMA has a printable version that you might

try to have enlarged at a shop.

    Alternate titles:

    The Street

    Street, Berlin (Strasse, Berlin)

    Berlin Street

    Strassenszene (Street Scene), 1913-14
