Where can I find a current or past court trial (or transcripts)?

You will have to know the defendant's name in a criminal case, or plaintiff and defendant's name if a civil case.  Then you must find out which court the case is out of.  Contact the clerk's office to see if a transcript was prepared and how much it will cost to obtain a copy of it.  If no transcript was made, then you will need to find out who the court reporter was and contact him/her to see how much the cost is.  Don't forget to also obtain copies of all court exhibits from either the clerk or the court reporter.  Typically a court reporter will charge around $4 per page to prepare a transcript, whereas if the transcript was already prepared, you will just have to pay the copying costs.  Good luck.
