Where can I find a fairly user friendly stock trading site?

I have tried Etrade and it just doesn't work well at all. Under the symbol search window I typed the letter f and clicked the option for "the words starts with" and it cam up with a an empty list, well I know that ford starts with an f so at least ford should have come on the list, but there was nothing, so i called customer service and they didn't know what do to either. I have over 30 years experience working with computer / internet and computer information systems, so it's not that I am inept, it's more the site builder wasn't and end user and didn't put much thought into it. So i need a site that works, when i type in a word it gives me what I need.

I've been happy with Fidelity.  There certainly might be better companies out there, but I've never had difficulties with them (@10 years).  I know you won't have search problems like you just described.

Hey Taco ... I've read some of your answers ... great sense of humor you carry around with you.  :)

On your question concerning online brokerages.  I use Fidelity and have for years and years.  Also used Ameritrade and Schwab, but moved all funds to Fido due to their reliability and research.

Check out Money-and-Investing.com.  On the main page you'll find a heading like "Investor Basics" or something ... right under it you will find links to online brokerage ratings.  These ratings give you a complete breakdown covering such things as reliability, speed of execution, fees, easy of use, etc.

If you want a fairly user friendly stock trading site that is also fairly cheap, you should check out Firstrade http://www.firstrade.com/.  Out of all the cheaper online discount brokers, it is one of the easiest to use.
