Where can I find a free instant messenger for my palm centro with no text message charges?

I used to have a blackberry pearl that had a free instant messenger where I can send messages to my boyfriend who also had a blackberry pearl and we didn't pay for any text message charges, etc. I'm trying to find a free messenger like that for my new palm centro. Does anyone know where I can find one to dowload?
