Where can I find a free program VERY similar to Microsoft Word?

A trial-version of Word 2003 came with my computer, but I guess it only lasted for so long. I really miss it. It's a nice program and I want to find something similar but for free. A lot to ask for, I know. If you know of anything similar or a program that works well for essays/school/etc. Thanks!

open office .. search in google for open office i think its website is openoffice.org or something like that its a free program u can download and use it free without paying anything.. and if u want then u can go and download the microsoft word 2003 , 2007 etc from other illegal sites.

but its not good to do that..

Openoffice.org, it will open windows docs as well. And you can get it bundled with excel and powerpoint like applications
