I want to be a singer, and eventually get into acting. How do I go about doing this?

First of all, you don't "find a good talent agent" any good agent will find YOU.

Agents don't take on complete unknown and untried talent.  They make THEIR money from the 10 percent of YOUR earnings that YOU pay them and, since you don't HAVE any earnings at this point... you won't find an agent.

You need to get good enough to AUDITION for parts so you can get noticed.  Singers are a dime a dozen, so you have an uphill battle to begin with.  It will take a lot of TALENT and HARD WORK before you are even ready for an Agent.
