Where can I find a list of grants to help me out with tuition and the life costs of going to college?

I'm in my Junior year at a 4 yr university and things are starting to get a little to tight on money.

  1. Grants and scholarships are in the greatest demand and shortest supply.  If you did not qualify for a Pell grant or similar financial aid, you will have to start with a google search to see what you might round up.

    Also, there is a severe shortage of loan money this year -- the bond sale to raise funds for student loan programs only sold one tranche (i.e. a tiny fraction of the total up for sale) this spring.

    Ask your parents how much is left in the money they saved up for your schooling, and what they can do to help with the rising costs.  What was your result with the FAFSA & application for financial aid at school?  What can you do to cut your costs?  Everybody else is cutting back, you might as well plan on this, too.  And above all, what kind of work are you doing this summer?  Try getting more hours, or work a second job, or see if you can continue to work weekends during the school year.
