  1. Homeschool is done in the home.  Each home is different so each homeschool is different.   I imagine we all think ours is the best..because it fits out children best.

  2. There are no homeschooling schools...that is the point.  Children learn what they want to learn at home, at the rate at which they want to learn it.

You may be thinking about Education Otherwise which is a self-help and support group for home educators in the UK.

    Hope this helps

  3. The list will depend on who is at the other end trying to get your money for their curriculum . Honestly, no pre-packaged school in a box is going to turn you into a genius, or on the other end, a completely uneducated moron. The goal of these programs is to present all the core subjects in a way that will --after 12 years-- give the person who completed them the basic foundation of knowledge necessary in the adult workforce. Homeschoolers, however, have the advantage of removing the assumed priority off of these lessons and base their education on filling the remaining hours of the day, after these lessons, with gaining personal knowledge that will truly make a well-educated person.

But if you asked this question because you are searching for a program to use and are new to the homeschooling idea. Then I say---your public library. Its free. Learn your kids learning styles before you invest money and time in things that will only frustrate you and them. There is nothing wrong with taking time to deschool from public school. Play games, read books and hold discussions, buy a few workbooks at a teacher supply store or college bookstore so you don't fell guilty if you have to. Just try to make every minute you can an enjoyable learning moment and a true education will fall into the walls of your house effortlessly--I swear, Its amazing.

  4. If you're talking about the best homeschool curriculums/programs, maybe Abeka, Bob Jones, Alpha Omega -- I think all of these get pretty high ratings among homeschoolers and they all have "real bricks & mortar schools" and have online or dvd options.
